Int’l Women’s Championship: Nepal to take on Lebanon

KATHMANDU: Nepal will play against Lebanon today (Thursday) in the International Women’s Championship. The match is set to begin at 6 pm at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor.

After securing a 1-0 win over Kyrgyzstan in their first match, Nepal aims to repeat that performance in today’s game.

The team is determined to secure back-to-back victories to boost their chances of making it to the final.

On the other hand, Lebanon, who suffered a 3-1 defeat to Myanmar in their first match, will be looking to bounce back and claim their first victory.

They are determined to keep their hopes of reaching the final alive with a win over Nepal.

Myanmar currently leads the standings after their victory in the first match, while Nepal sits in second place, both teams having 3 points.

However, Nepal trails on goal difference. Kyrgyzstan, with no points, is in third, and Lebanon occupies the bottom spot in the standings.

In the opening match of the day, Myanmar will face Kyrgyzstan at 2 pm. Myanmar aims for a second consecutive win, while Kyrgyzstan will be looking for their first victory.

Head-to-Head: This will be the second meeting between Nepal and Lebanon in women’s football this year.

The two teams last met during the FIFA Women’s Championship in Saudi Arabia last February, where Nepal defeated Lebanon 2-1 in the semi-finals.

Lebanon will be looking for revenge and hopes to stun Nepal on their home ground in today’s match.

However, Nepal, with the advantage of home support and high morale, will be eager to repeat their previous success.
