Government appeals to keep Rabi and associates in custody

The government has filed a petition at the High Court Pokhara, demanding that Rabi Lamichhane, chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, and six others remain in custody for investigation into the multi-billion-rupee fraud case involving the Suryadarshan Cooperative in Pokhara.

The District Public Prosecutor’s Office has filed the appeal, arguing that the release of Lamichhane and his associate, former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, on bail by the Kaski District Court was against the legal provisions.

The petition seeks to continue the case while keeping all accused in judicial custody. The High Court Pokhara has confirmed the registration of the appeal.
