Thick fog in Tarai, cloudy weather in some provinces



KATHMANDU: The country is currently experiencing the influence of western winds.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, parts of the hilly regions in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces are experiencing partial cloud cover, while most other regions have clear skies.

Dense fog and mist are prevalent in parts of the western Tarai of Madhes Province and the eastern Tarai of Lumbini Province.

This afternoon, partial cloud cover is expected in the hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Similar weather conditions are likely to persist in these areas tonight.

Light to moderate rainfall is possible in some parts of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while isolated light rainfall may occur in the hilly areas of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.

The division has also warned of fog and mist during the morning hours in parts of the Tarai and valleys, which could impact daily life, agriculture, health, transportation, and air travel. The public is advised to take necessary precautions.
