Young woman critically ill after self-harm attempt at Patan High Court

LALITPUR: A young woman who harmed herself at the Patan High Court premises in Lalitpur is currently receiving treatment at Patan Hospital’s ICU, police sources confirmed.

The woman, around 30 years old, attempted to take her own life on Thursday. She was rescued by police and admitted for urgent medical care, with her treatment ongoing.

Sources said the incident occurred after a court order related to a case in which Pramod Mainali, an official at the Office of the Controller of Accounts, was the accused. Following the bail order, she reportedly ingested pesticide within the court premises.

Earlier, she had been sent to Patan after a bail order by the Kathmandu District Court. Despite the Patan court also granting bail, the woman resorted to self-harm.
