Transport Office Nawalparasi collects over Rs. 284 million in FY 2081/82



NAWALPARASI: The Transport Management Office in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Sustapur) collected a total of Rs. 284.587 million in revenue during the fiscal year 2081/82, according to Office Chief Suresh Jaiswal. The figure is roughly in line with the previous fiscal year’s collection of Rs. 303.553 million.

Breaking down the revenue, Jaiswal stated that Rs. 228.796 million came from vehicle taxes, Rs. 74.8 million from driver’s licenses and vehicle registration documents, Rs. 3.165 million from transport-related income revenue, and Rs. 1.123 million from various administrative service fees.

The office facilitated 1,414 successful vehicle inspections and saw 9,975 candidates sit for the written driving license exam. Meanwhile, 20,260 individuals took part in the trial driving test, and 3,054 licenses were renewed over the year.

A targeted campaign was launched to streamline and enhance tax collection, with a focus on bill book renewals, inspection approvals, route permits, and licensing services. As a result, the office recorded Rs. 48.025 million in revenue during the month of Chaitra alone.
