Nepal Rastra Bank publishes today’s foreign currency exchange rates



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published the official exchange rates of foreign currencies for today (Thursday).

According to the central bank, the exchange rates of several foreign currencies, including the US dollar, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar, have increased.

In contrast, the rates for currencies such as the Australian dollar, euro, and British pound have declined. The euro, notably, had also depreciated on Wednesday.

As per NRB, the buying rate of one US dollar today is NPR 138.07, while the selling rate is NPR 138.69. Yesterday, the buying rate stood at NPR 137.69, and the selling rate was NPR 138.29.

The buying rate for one euro today is NPR 158.37, with the selling rate at NPR 159.42. This marks a decrease from yesterday, when the buying rate was NPR 159.29 and the selling rate was NPR 159.99.

Similarly, the British pound has also weakened, with today’s buying rate at NPR 185.60 and the selling rate at NPR 186.41, compared to yesterday’s rates of NPR 186.57 and NPR 187.56, respectively.

The Australian dollar has also seen a slight decline. Today, the buying rate stands at NPR 89.65 and the selling rate at NPR 90.04, down from yesterday’s buying rate of NPR 90.02 and selling rate of NPR 90.41.

In contrast, the Kuwaiti dinar has appreciated, with the buying rate today at NPR 450.75 and the selling rate at NPR 452.71. Yesterday, the respective rates were NPR 449.82 and NPR 451.78.

The Bahraini dinar has also risen slightly, with today’s buying rate at NPR 366.11 and the selling rate at NPR 367.70, compared to NPR 365.18 and NPR 366.77 on the previous day.

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates are subject to revision as needed. It has also noted that commercial banks may offer different rates, and the most up-to-date exchange rates are available on the central bank’s official website.
