Sorry KP Oli, I don’t support your corrupt system: Balen Shah

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has accused Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of being the “ringleader of corruption.”

In a social media post, Mayor Shah stated that he cannot support KP Oli’s corrupt system. He questioned why he should attend a program led by someone who defends corruption, especially when he is working to curb it.

In his post, Balen wrote:
“In a country where the mayor of the capital tries to stop corruption, but all the political parties come together to protect the corrupt — should I attend a program led by the ringleader of that? Sorry KP Oli, I don’t support your corrupt system.”

Earlier in the day, Balen had skipped the Republic Day main ceremony committee meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar.

Following his absence, KP Oli reportedly instructed officials to no longer invite Shah to future meetings and to remove his name from the main ceremony committee.
