Rainfall likely in Kathmandu and several other regions



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the current weather across Nepal is being influenced by local and westerly winds.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is currently occurring in parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Lumbini, and the Kathmandu Valley in Bagmati Province.

This afternoon, brief to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in isolated hilly areas of Lumbini Province. Light snowfall is also expected in a few high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, light rain with thunder and lightning is likely in parts of Koshi Province and a few hilly areas of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

The Division has urged the public to remain cautious and take necessary precautions, as thunderstorms, lightning, rain, and snowfall could affect agriculture, daily life, health, and both road and air transport.
