KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has published the foreign exchange rates for today (Wednesday), showing a decline in the value of several currencies, including the US dollar, British pound, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar.
However, some currencies, such as the Australian dollar, have become more expensive.
Today, the buying rate for 1 US dollar is Rs. 138.22, while the selling rate stands at Rs. 138.82.
Yesterday, the US dollar was slightly higher, with a buying rate of Rs. 138.59 and a selling rate of Rs. 139.19. On Magh 25, the dollar had reached its highest value in the Nepali market so far, with a buying rate of Rs. 139.83 and a selling rate of Rs. 140.43.
The Euro is being traded at a buying rate of Rs. 151.12 and a selling rate of Rs. 151.78, with the selling rate seeing a marginal increase from Rs. 151.77 yesterday.
Similarly, the British Pound Sterling is now at a buying rate of Rs. 179.49 and a selling rate of Rs. 180.27, down from yesterday’s Rs. 179.78 and Rs. 180.56, respectively.
The Australian Dollar, which has become more expensive, is being exchanged at a buying rate of Rs. 88.05 and a selling rate of Rs. 88.43. Yesterday, the rates were slightly lower, with a buying rate of Rs. 88.00 and a selling rate of Rs. 88.39.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti Dinar has dropped in value, with today’s buying rate at Rs. 448.81 and the selling rate at Rs. 450.76.
Yesterday, these rates were Rs. 450.10 and Rs. 452.05, respectively. The Bahraini Dinar has also seen a decline, with today’s buying rate at Rs. 366.64 and the selling rate at Rs. 368.23, compared to Rs. 367.64 and Rs. 369.23 yesterday.
Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates are subject to revision as needed. Additionally, the rates set by commercial banks may vary, and the most up-to-date rates can be found on the central bank’s website.
