Chhabilal Joshi appears in Kathmandu District Court over Swarnalakshmi Cooperative fraud



KATHMANDU: Former DIG Chhabilal Joshi has appeared in the Kathmandu District Court regarding the misappropriation of funds from Swarnalakshmi Cooperative in Kalimati, Kathmandu.

The case against Joshi is being heard by Judge Thakur Prasad Kharel, where his statement and closing arguments are scheduled to take place. Joshi is facing charges of embezzling funds from the cooperative.

In addition to the Kathmandu case, Joshi was previously charged in the Kaski District Court for cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering.

He was released after posting bail of Rs 8.8 million in Kaski, where he was accused of embezzling funds from the Suryadarchan Cooperative.
