KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by 10.66 points on Thursday, the final trading day of the week, closing at 2,615.03 points.
Total trading volume increased to Rs 4.57 billion, up from Rs 4.05 billion recorded a day earlier. Out of the traded companies, 63 saw their share prices rise, while 194 declined and two remained unchanged.
Among sectoral indices, the finance sector posted the steepest loss, falling by 1.55 percent. The hotel and tourism sector remained stable.
Gainers included the non-life insurance sector, which rose by 0.22 percent, and the trading sector, up 0.48 percent.
Meanwhile, losses were recorded across most other sectors. Banking declined by 0.22 percent, development banks by 0.12 percent, hydropower by 0.55 percent, investment by 0.41 percent, life insurance by 0.67 percent, manufacturing and processing by 0.17 percent, microfinance by 0.49 percent, and the others sector by 1.19 percent.
