Three arrested for issuing fake citizenship, ID cards, and passports



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three individuals for allegedly providing false information to obtain citizenship certificates, national ID cards, and passports.

The arrested include Yam Bahadur Basnet, 43, of Dhang Tulsiipur Sub-Metropolitan City–17; Krishna Bahadur Kutuwal, 51, of Jhapa Kachankawal Rural Municipality–3; and Surya Bahadur Khadka, 41, of Jhapa Bhadrapur Municipality–9, according to Kaji Kumar Acharya, spokesperson and Superintendent of Police at the Valley Crime Investigation Office.

The spokesperson said the suspects have been handed over to the Jhapa District Police Office for further investigation and necessary action under charges of citizenship fraud, forgery, and organized crime.
