Daramkhola Hydropower Project begins commercial power generation



BAGLUNG: The 9.6 MW Daramkhola Hydropower Project in Baglung has commenced commercial electricity production. Developed by Daramkhola Hydro Energy Limited, the project has already linked its generated power to the national transmission grid.

The dam has been built at Kandebas in Galkot Municipality-8, while the powerhouse is located approximately 4.5 kilometers downstream at Manewapata, according to Project Engineer Mithilesh Chaudhary. He noted that the project is expected to generate 6.6 MW during the dry season.

Nar Bahadur Pun, Chairman of Daramkhola Hydro Energy, said that more than Rs 2 billion has been invested in the project’s development.
