Double header in NPL: Chitwan–Karnali early clash, Biratnagar–Pokhara in evening



KATHMANDU: Two matches are set to take place today in the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL). In the first match, starting at 11:45 am, Chitwan Rhinos will face Karnali Yaks. Chitwan are led by captain Kushal Malla, while Sompal Kami captains Karnali.

The second match will see Biratnagar Kings take on Pokhara Avengers at 4 pm. Biratnagar will be captained by Sandeep Lamichhane, and Pokhara by Kushal Bhurtel.

In Monday’s opening match, defending champions Janakpur Bolts were defeated by Kathmandu Gurkhas by five wickets.

All matches of the NPL’s second season are being held at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, with afternoon and evening fixtures. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced that 9,450 tickets will be available for each match.

The tournament features 32 matches, including the league stage, three playoffs, and the final. Ticket prices for Saturdays are set at Rs 500 for general and Rs 1,500 for premium.

For league-stage matches on other days, tickets cost Rs 500 (general) and Rs 1,000 (premium). For playoff and final fixtures, prices are Rs 1,000 for general and Rs 2,000 for premium. Seasonal passes are priced at Rs 15,000.

Eight franchise teams are competing this season: Janakpur Bolts, Sudurpaschim Royals, Karnali Yaks, Pokhara Avengers, Biratnagar Kings, Chitwan Rhinos, Kathmandu Gurkhas, and Lumbini Lions.
