NRB asks banks to operate during Tihar holidays except on Bhai Tika



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Rastra Bank has asked banks and financial institutions to remain open during the Tihar holidays except on the day of Bhai Tika to ensure smooth customs clearance and trade operations.

In a circular issued to Class A, B, and C financial institutions, the central bank urged them to continue providing essential banking services to support trade facilitation and maintain the supply system during the festive break.

The central bank has also announced that the Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system will remain operational on Saturday from 10am to 4pm to enable real-time interbank transactions.
