UPDATE: Twenty-one injured as seven vehicles collide in Chitwan



CHITWAN: At least 21 people were injured when seven vehicles collided at Gaighat, Ward No. 29 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City on Saturday morning.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Khanal of the Chitwan District Police Office said the accident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. The injured are undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College, Janata Care Hospital, and National City Hospital.

The collision began when a truck (Na 8 Kha 6629) heading from Muglin towards Narayangadh hit a bus (Ba 4 Kha 7420) coming from the opposite direction. The impact triggered a chain reaction involving a trailer (Na 7 Kha 9607), an electric microbus (Ba Pra 06-001 Ga 0484), another bus (Ga 2 Kha 1626), a Bolero jeep (Na 3 Cha 3256), and a car (BAB 8470).

Of the injured, 13 are receiving treatment at National City Hospital, four at Chitwan Medical College, and four at Janata Care Hospital. Police said further details of the incident are still being collected.
