KATHMANDU: Rabilaxmi Chitrakar, wife of senior CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Jhalanath Khanal, has had her left hand amputated.

During the Gen-Z protests on September 9, protesters set her on fire at her residence. She has since been undergoing treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital.

Khanal informed the media that her hand was amputated after an infection developed during treatment.

“Due to the infection, her left hand had to be amputated. Her condition is now improving. She has started responding, and I am by her side continuously,” Khanal told Khabarhub.
