KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank today announced the official buying and selling rates for a variety of foreign currencies. The US dollar is now being bought at NPR 137.43 and sold at NPR 138.03.
The euro’s buying rate stands at NPR 159.12, with a selling rate of NPR 159.81, while the British pound is quoted at NPR 184.05 for buying and NPR 184.86 for selling. The Swiss franc registers at NPR 170.75 and NPR 171.50 for buying and selling respectively.
Among other major currencies, the Australian dollar is being bought at NPR 88.74 and sold at NPR 89.13; the Canadian dollar at NPR 99.81 and NPR 100.24; and the Singapore dollar at NPR 106.79 for buying and NPR 107.25 for selling.
For 10 Japanese yen, the rates are NPR 9.24 and NPR 9.28, while one Chinese yuan trades at NPR 19.14 for buying and NPR 19.22 for selling. The Saudi riyal is fixed at NPR 36.64 (buying) and NPR 36.80 (selling), and the Qatari riyal at NPR 37.70 and NPR 37.87.
In the case of regional currencies, the Thai baht’s buying rate is NPR 4.22, and the UAE dirham trades at NPR 37.42 for buying and NPR 37.58 for selling.
The Malaysian ringgit is being bought at NPR 32.36 and sold at NPR 32.50, and the South Korean won is posted at NPR 9.87 for buying and NPR 9.91 for selling. The Swedish kronor stands at NPR 14.06/14.12, and the Danish kronor at NPR 21.32 for buying and NPR 21.41 for selling.
Among other foreign currencies, the Hong Kong dollar is fixed at NPR 17.51 (buying) and NPR 17.59 (selling), the Kuwaiti dinar at NPR 449.51 and NPR 451.48, the Bahraini dinar at NPR 364.51 and NPR 366.10, and the Omani rial at NPR 356.95 for buying and NPR 358.51 for selling.
The exchange rate for 100 Indian rupees is now NPR 160 for buying and NPR 160.15 for selling.
According to Nepal Rastra Bank, these rates may be revised at any time depending on market conditions. It also noted that commercial banks might apply slightly different rates when buying and selling.
