Nepal issues travel advisory, urges citizens to avoid travel to Israel and Iran

KATHMANDU: The Government of Nepal has advised its citizens to avoid traveling to Israel and Iran until further notice, citing escalating tensions between the two countries.

In a travel advisory issued on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged those planning to visit or transit through these countries for work or other purposes to reconsider their travel plans in light of the current sensitive security situation.

“In the present difficult circumstances, it is advisable for Nepali nationals planning to travel to Middle Eastern countries—especially Israel and Iran—for employment or other purposes to postpone their travel,” the statement said.

The ministry also called on Nepali citizens currently residing in Israel and Iran to remain extremely cautious. It recommended avoiding crowded areas, staying alert to local security directives, and prioritizing personal safety. If necessary, individuals have been advised to consider leaving the region.

Nepali citizens studying or working in Israel or Iran are specifically urged to avoid going outside except during designated times, maintain regular contact with the nearest Nepali mission, and closely follow official updates and public advisories.

Additionally, the ministry has asked all citizens planning to travel to these countries to review and possibly revise their travel plans based on the current situation.
