Heavy rainfall expected in four provinces today



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a weather update for today, warning of the potential for significant rainfall across several regions of the country.

Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at many locations in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces this afternoon, according to the Division.

Some areas in other provinces may also experience similar weather conditions. Additionally, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two locations in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Light rain or snowfall is also expected at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous regions.

Similarly, light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely at many places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and at some locations in the remaining provinces.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at a few locations in Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, the Division said.

Light rain or snowfall is also forecast for a few areas in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in the mountainous regions of the other provinces.

The Department has urged the public to stay informed and take necessary precautions, especially in areas at risk of flooding and landslides.
