Today’s foreign currency exchange rates



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published the official foreign exchange rates for today (Wednesday).

According to the central bank, the value of several major foreign currencies—including the US dollar, Australian dollar, Kuwaiti dinar, Bahraini dinar, and British pound—has increased, while a few, such as the euro, have slightly depreciated.

Today, the buying rate for one US dollar is NPR 137.69, and the selling rate is NPR 138.29. In comparison, yesterday’s rates stood at NPR 137.41 and NPR 138.01, respectively.

The highest exchange rate for the US dollar in the Nepali market so far was recorded on Magh 25, when the buying rate reached NPR 139.83 and the selling rate hit NPR 140.43.

Similarly, the euro has slightly declined in value. Today, the buying rate is NPR 159.29 and the selling rate is NPR 159.99, compared to yesterday’s NPR 159.09 and NPR 159.79.

In contrast, the British pound has risen slightly, with today’s buying and selling rates at NPR 186.57 and NPR 187.56, respectively, compared to NPR 186.66 and NPR 187.48 yesterday.

Similarly, the Australian dollar has appreciated, with the buying rate at NPR 90.02 and the selling rate at NPR 90.41, up from NPR 89.58 and NPR 89.98.

The Kuwaiti dinar also saw a slight increase, with today’s rates at NPR 449.82 (buying) and NPR 451.78 (selling), compared to yesterday’s NPR 449.27 and NPR 451.23.

The Bahraini dinar has followed the same trend, with today’s buying rate at NPR 365.18 and the selling rate at NPR 366.77, up from NPR 364.35 and NPR 365.94.

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates may be revised at any time if necessary.

It also clarified that the rates offered by commercial banks might differ, and the latest updates are available on the central bank’s official website.
