APF Assistant Sub-Inspector Chhatyal climbs Mt Everest



KATHMANDU: Armed Police Force (APF) Assistant Sub-Inspector Danta Bahadur Chhatyal has successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world.

At 9:20 AM today, he raised the Sagarmatha Sambaad and the flag of the Armed Police Force Nepal atop the 8,848-meter-high summit of Mount Everest, as confirmed by Armed Police Inspector Nirmal Basnet, the coordination officer at Everest Base Camp.

Earlier, Chhatyal had also successfully summited Lobuche Himal, which stands at 6,114 meters.

With the message that the Armed Police Force Nepal is dedicated to securing the Terai, the mountains, and the borders, Assistant Inspector Chhatyal set out for Mount Everest on Baisakh 15, carrying the Sagarmatha Sambad and the Armed Police Force Nepal flag.

On Baisakh 14, he received a warm farewell from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Inspector General of the Armed Police, Raju Aryal, who offered their best wishes for his successful ascent.

Assistant Inspector Chhatyal serves at the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 19 Baglamukhi Special Task Force Battalion in Halchowk.
