Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Thapaliya’s Term Ends



KATHMANDU: Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya’s tenure has officially ended.

On Friday, officials and staff at the Election Commission organized a farewell program to mark the conclusion of his six-year term.

Thapaliya had assumed leadership of the commission in 2076 BS. Under his leadership, all three tiers of elections were conducted in 2079 BS.

During his tenure, the Election Commission faced multiple political challenges, including disputes over party splits.
