Father and son consume poison over dispute



KAILALI: A father and son consumed pesticide following a domestic dispute in Lamkichuha Municipality-10.

According to police, 56-year-old Santaram Chaudhary and his 20-year-old son Shyam Chaudhary ingested the substance around 2 am on Friday. They are currently receiving treatment at Bardagoriya Hospital, and their condition is reported to be stable.

In a separate incident, a 4-year-old boy was attacked with a sickle by his uncle in Ghodaghodi Municipality-5. Prem Kadel, son of Hari Kadel, was playing in the courtyard when his uncle, 40-year-old Arjun Kandel, allegedly lured him into a nearby room and attacked him.

The child was first treated at a local health facility in Ghodaghodi and later referred to Dhangadhi for further medical care. Police have taken Kandel into custody, suspecting him to be mentally unwell, said DSP Kabindra Singh Bohara, spokesperson of the District Police Office.
