Sichuan Airlines launches direct flights from Chengdu to Pokhara

KATHMANDU: In celebration of the 70th anniversary of Nepal-China friendly relations and the Nepal and Pokhara Visit Year 2025, China’s Sichuan Airlines has commenced direct flight services from Chengdu to Pokhara.

A Sichuan Airlines plane carrying 127 Chinese tourists landed at Pokhara International Airport on Tuesday, marking the inaugural flight of the direct service.

Following the arrival, the plane departed from Pokhara with a team of 126 tourism entrepreneurs led by Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya.

The team is scheduled to participate in a week-long sales mission in various Chinese cities, including Chengdu, to promote Pokhara as a prime tourism destination.

Pokhara Metropolitan City expressed hope that the new direct flight service would boost tourism and enhance connectivity between Nepal and China.
