Meetings of six parliamentary committees taking place today



KATHMANDU; Six committees under the Federal Parliament are set to convene today at Singha Durbar between 11 AM and 2 PM.

These include the Public Accounts Committee; Finance Committee; Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee; Legislative Management Committee; Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee; and Education, Health and Information Technology Committee.

The Public Accounts Committee will review and discuss the preliminary draft of its 23rd report and examine public complaints.

The Finance Committee will hold a clause-wise discussion on the proposed amendment and unification of the customs law.

The Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee will engage with the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation on issues related to barren land, unorganized settlements, landless squatters, encroached land, and land exempted from legal limits.

The discussion will also cover progress in addressing the concerns of Swargdwari Guthi farmers.

The Legislative Management Committee is scheduled to discuss the Ships (Operation and Management) Bill, 2081, with relevant stakeholders.

The Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee will review the Study Report on the Status of Delegated Legislations under the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act, 2029 (2081).

Similarly, the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee will conduct a clause-wise discussion on the School Education Bill, 2080.
