Nepal Rastra Bank to collect deposits worth Rs 40 billion



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is set to collect deposits totaling Rs 40 billion through a bidding process today.

The deposits will be collected for a period of 22 days, with the bidding process open until 3 p.m.

According to the central bank, the collection will take place through an online bidding system. The bidding terms specify that the minimum bid amount should be Rs 100 million, while the maximum is capped at Rs 50 billion.

Any remaining amount can also be divided in increments of Rs 100 million.

The initiative is part of the central bank’s monetary management strategy, aimed at regulating liquidity in the financial system.
