Loyalty to be enhanced for country thru journalism: Chair Dahal



MORANG: Chair of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that it is necessary for the media to convey messages that increase loyalty and love for the country.

Inaugurating the 14th anniversary of New Srishti Daily and Yuva Samman Karyakram(youth felicitation programme) here today, he said that it is necessary for all of us to love the country and be proud of its history.

Former Prime Minister Dahal mentioned that the country which is rich in geographical diversity and natural resources should be developed properly. “Media workers and artists should work to promote national unity among the different castes of the country.”

He also stressed that all political parties should be responsible for good governance, end discrimination, and ensure justice and bringing prosperity to the country by ending the economic crisis.

Dahal also mentioned that there is a big challenge in front of the print media due to social media and praised the editor-in-chief of New Srishti, Shankar Kharel, for continuously publishing the daily newspaper.

Nagesh Koirala, head of Biratnagar Metropolitan City, emphasized that media houses should give priority to developmental news.

Shankar Kharel, Editor-in-Chief of New Srishti Dainik and member of the Board of Directors of RSS, mentioned that it is necessary for all parties to be active in order to make the federal democratic republic a success.

On that occasion, the best journalism award was given to Bibek Mishra of RSS Morang (Belbari).

Chair Dahal awarded and honored actor Vijay Baral, actress Neeta Dhungana, Mount Everest climber Poornima Shrestha, cricketer Lalit Rajbanshi, Olympic medalist Palisa Gowdradhan, singer and musician Babul Giri, Senior Superintendent of Police of Nepal Police Santosh Khadka, Chair of Jahada Rural Municipality Jitendra Sah and others.
