Workers rally in Kathmandu advocates for justice and equality

KATHMANDU: A rally with the slogan “Let’s draw a red circle” was held in Kathmandu on Saturday, highlighting the issues of injustice and oppression faced by workers.

Organized by the Federation of Nepal Trade Unions, the rally commenced from Bhrikuti Mandap as part of a global campaign against inequality.

Federation president Binod Shrestha emphasized that the movement aims to challenge the unequal treatment of workers by the wealthiest 1 percent globally.

“The Red Circle campaign represents a call for justice, fair wages, and equality for workers worldwide,” said Shrestha.

Participants carried placards with messages such as “Provide a living wage, Tax the rich, not the poor workers,” “We are the 99 percent,” and “Listen to us,” underscoring the rally’s demands for fair treatment and social justice.

This rally in Nepal is part of a broader international initiative advocating for systemic changes to address economic disparity and improve the lives of workers.
