Kathmandu Valley records 6°C minimum as winter chill continues



KATHMANDU: The cold continues to intensify across the country, including the Kathmandu Valley. However, the minimum temperature in the valley was slightly higher this morning compared to Tuesday.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu at 5:45 am on Wednesday was 6.0 degrees Celsius. On Tuesday, the minimum at the same time was 5.4 degrees Celsius, dropping to 5.0 degrees Celsius by 8:45 am.

Today’s official temperature will be measured again at 8:45 am, and the minimum is expected to be lower than the 5:45 am reading.

Meteorologists explain that cloudy nights tend to keep minimum temperatures slightly higher, while clear skies result in lower temperatures. The Division records daily minimum and maximum temperatures for various locations, including Kathmandu, with minimum temperatures measured at 8:45 am and maximum temperatures at 5:45 pm.
