KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has published the foreign exchange rates for today, with the US dollar rising further to its highest level so far. According to Wednesday’s fixed rates, the buying rate of one US dollar has been set at Rs 145.35, while the selling rate stands at Rs 145.95.
The buying rate of one euro has been fixed at Rs 170.86 and the selling rate at Rs 171.56. Similarly, the UK pound sterling is being traded at a buying rate of Rs 195.02 and a selling rate of Rs 195.83, while the Swiss franc stands at Rs 182.55 for buying and Rs 183.11 for selling.
The Australian dollar is priced at Rs 96.44 for buying and Rs 96.84 for selling, the Canadian dollar at Rs 105.48 and Rs 105.92 respectively, and the Singapore dollar at Rs 112.70 for buying and Rs 113.17 for selling.
Likewise, the buying rate of 10 Japanese yen has been set at Rs 9.38 and the selling rate at Rs 9.42. One Chinese yuan is being traded at Rs 20.64 for buying and Rs 20.72 for selling. The Saudi Arabian riyal has been fixed at Rs 38.75 for buying and Rs 38.91 for selling, while the Qatari riyal stands at Rs 39.77 and Rs 39.93 respectively.
According to the central bank, the Thai baht is being traded at Rs 4.61 for buying and Rs 4.63 for selling. The UAE dirham stands at Rs 39.58 for buying and Rs 39.74 for selling, the Malaysian ringgit at Rs 35.58 and Rs 35.72, 100 South Korean won at Rs 9.85 and Rs 9.90, the Swedish krona at Rs 15.61 and Rs 15.67, and the Danish krona at Rs 22.87 and Rs 22.96.
Nepal Rastra Bank has fixed the buying rate of the Hong Kong dollar at Rs 18.68 and the selling rate at Rs 18.76. The Kuwaiti dinar is priced at Rs 474.05 for buying and Rs 476.01 for selling, the Bahraini dinar at Rs 385.54 and Rs 387.14 respectively, and the Omani rial at Rs 377.53 for buying and Rs 379.09 for selling. The buying rate of 100 Indian rupees has been set at Rs 160, while the selling rate is Rs 160.15.
The central bank noted that the exchange rates may be revised at any time as required. It also clarified that rates set by commercial banks may differ, and the latest exchange rates can be found on Nepal Rastra Bank’s official website.
