Sudan Kirati engages alternative forces ahead of alliance talks

KATHMANDU: Sudan Kirati, central coordinator of the Pragatisheel Rastriya Abhiyan, has said that discussions are underway with various alternative political forces ahead of potential alliances.

Kirati told Khabarhub that talks are ongoing with leaders, including Ashok Nepal of the Janata Samajwadi Party and Sumana Shrestha, who recently left the Rastriya Swatantra Party. He also claimed to be in dialogue with Harka Sampang, Mayor of Dharan, as part of these consultations.

“Even if full party unity is not achieved, we are discussing moving forward through coordinated alliances with different alternative forces,” Kirati said. “We are maintaining regular dialogue with Ashok Nepal, Sumana Shrestha, and Dharan Mayor Harka Sampang.”

He added that while formal party unification is not the immediate goal, all sides have shown a positive outlook toward bringing alternative forces together.

Recently, Mayor Sampang has been expanding his organization across districts after registering the Shram Sanskriti Party, signaling increased coordination among alternative political actors ahead of upcoming elections.
