Best taxpayers honoured on National Tax Day



KATHMANDU: The Inland Revenue Office (IRO) honoured the nation’s best taxpayers on the occasion of National Tax Day, 2025. The awards recognized outstanding contributions based on income details from the fiscal year 2023/24.

Nepal Telecommunications Authority was recognised as the highest taxpayer among companies. Other honoured organisations included Third Eye International, Dabar Nepal Pvt. Ltd, Orex Nepal Pvt Ltd, Poshak Breeder Farm Pvt Ltd, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Nobel Medical College Teaching Hospital, Soaltee Hotel Limited, Bhatbhateni Supermarket, Bhotekoshi Power Company Ltd, and IME Limited.

Among individuals, Raj Bahadur Shah received recognition for paying the highest income tax. CDS and Clearing Limited and VF Services Pvt Ltd were also awarded, with CDS paying between Rs 500 million to Rs 1 billion in taxes and VF Services Pvt Ltd up to Rs 500 million.

Nepal Telecommunications Authority was additionally honoured as the best VAT payer. Unilever Nepal received accolades for consistently paying the highest tax from 2076 BS to 2082 BS.

The Department also acknowledged the Inland Revenue Office, Baglung, for outstanding performance over the past year.
