Nepali Congress CWC meeting to resume today



KATHMANDU: The ongoing meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) Central Working Committee (CWC), which began on October 14, is set to resume today (Friday), with central members continuing to share their views on current political issues.

The meeting, held at the party’s central office in Sanepa under the chairmanship of Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka, opened with Khadka briefing members on recent political developments. General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa also presented various proposals during the session, according to Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel.

During Thursday’s meeting, central committee members Dr. Shekhar Koirala, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, Devendra Raj Kandel, Shiva Prasad Humagain, Rajiv Koirala, Guru Baral, and Nrip Bahadur Wad expressed their opinions.

The process of collecting views from office bearers and central members is ongoing. In the opening session held on October 14, Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba delivered a special address before handing over responsibilities to Vice President Khadka, citing health reasons.

President Deuba is currently recovering after sustaining injuries in a violent attack at his residence on September 24. The incident occurred in the aftermath of the ‘Gen-Z protests held on September 8 and 9, according to the party office.
