Manakamana Cable Car resumes operations from today

MUGLIN: The Manakamana Cable Car resumed regular service from Wednesday, a week after being suspended due to the Gen-Z demonstrations on September 8 and 9.

According to Ujwal Sherchan, head of the cable car office, the service had been halted from September 10 for safety reasons, during which time routine maintenance was also carried out.

The Manakamana Cable Car, Nepal’s first cable car service, was built to facilitate pilgrims traveling to the Manakamana Temple in Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality, Gorkha.

Its base station is located at Cheres in Ichchhakamana-4, Chitwan.
