Govt tightens Sudan Gurung’s security after attempted attack

KATHMANDU: An attempted attack was made on Hami Nepal President, Sudan Gurung, while he was leaving his office on Wednesday evening.

According to reports, a group on motorcycles followed Gurung from Ranibari to New Baneshwor Chowk, where two red cars allegedly joined in an attempt to attack him.

Following the incident, the government has stepped up Gurung’s security. Gurung has stated that he is currently in a safe location.

This is not the first such incident targeting Gurung. On Sunday, during a program organized by the Reporters Club Nepal, there had also been an attempt to attack him.

Speaking after the latest attempt, Gurung said he remains undeterred. “I am not afraid of anyone. I am committed to the campaign to transform this country,” he said.
