Monsoon to bring heavy rainfall across Nepal’s hilly regions

KATHMANDU: The monsoon’s low-pressure system currently lies near its average position, while moisture-rich winds from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal continue to influence weather patterns across Nepal.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the country is expected to remain generally cloudy this afternoon. Moderate rain is likely in some hilly areas, particularly in Bagmati and Lumbini provinces, and in a few other locations across the country.

The Division has also forecast heavy rainfall in one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces, as well as in the Terai areas of Lumbini Province.

Tonight, skies will remain generally cloudy over the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy conditions.

Moderate rain is expected in some parts of the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Madhesh provinces, and scattered showers are likely elsewhere. The Division warns of possible heavy rain in one or two places in the hilly regions of Madhesh, Koshi, and Bagmati provinces.
