Heavy rainfall likely in parts of Koshi and Bagmati today



KATHMANDU: Some parts of Koshi and Bagmati provinces are likely to experience heavy rainfall today, particularly in the hilly regions, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy across the country, with chances of moderate rainfall in the Tarai and hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati, as well as the hilly regions of other provinces.

Tonight, cloudy skies are expected in Koshi, Madhesh, and the hilly areas of the rest of the provinces, while other areas will see partial cloud cover.

Moderate rainfall is likely in parts of the Tarai and hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with light showers expected at a few places in the Tarai.

There is also a chance of heavy rainfall at one or two locations in both the Tarai and hilly regions of Koshi Province.

Although the monsoon has weakened, moisture-rich air continues to flow into the country from the Bay of Bengal, the Department added.
