KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) chair Rajendra Lingden and independent youth leader Deepak Raj Joshi held a meeting at the party’s central office in Dhumbarahi on Thursday.
The two leaders discussed ways to create an environment that encourages stability and long-term prospects for Nepali youth returning from abroad. They also exchanged views on how to motivate skilled Nepalis living overseas to return and contribute to national development.
Joshi emphasized the need for clear policies and strong political commitment to utilize the energy and potential of youth who have returned with the intent of contributing to the country. In response, Lingden said RPP is always willing to take constructive steps by identifying domestic opportunities and potential areas for youth engagement.
Joshi, who returned from the United States, is currently involved in an ongoing legal case at the Supreme Court related to the 2022 local elections. He had contested for the mayoral position of Byas Municipality in Tanahun as an independent candidate.
During the election, he was allegedly assaulted by Nepali Congress cadres. Accusing the vote count of being rigged, Joshi filed a case at the High Court, which ordered a full recount.
However, the court registrar halted the process. The case is now under review at the Supreme Court.
