KATHMANDU: The current weather patterns in Nepal are being influenced by westerly and local winds, along with moisture-laden air masses coming from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.
As a result, the country is experiencing increased cloud cover, with the possibility of rain, snowfall, and gusty winds across various regions, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.
This afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, while the rest of the country will see mainly clear to partly cloudy skies, it said.
The Division added that there is a chance of light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in a few places across the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces today afternoon.
Isolated areas in other parts of the country may also experience light rain. In the high hills and mountainous regions, there is a possibility of light rain or snowfall.
Additionally, gusty winds are expected in some areas of the Terai, particularly in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Madhes Provinces.
For tonight, the forecast predicts partly to generally cloudy conditions in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces, while the rest of the country will remain mainly clear to partly cloudy.
Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is possible in a few areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces, as well as isolated spots in the hilly areas of other provinces.
