Cloudy skies and light rain expected across hilly regions



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing the influence of westerly and local winds, affecting weather patterns across the country.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, hilly areas including Koshi, Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces will see partly to generally cloudy skies today, while other regions will remain mainly clear to partly cloudy.

By afternoon, the entire country is expected to be partly to generally cloudy. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in hilly areas, and isolated showers are expected in the rest of the country. High hilly and mountainous regions may also experience light rain and snowfall.

Tonight, cloudy conditions will continue in hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is possible in one or two places in these regions.

The department has urged the public to remain cautious, as weather conditions may disrupt daily activities, transportation, agriculture, and health.
