Nepal starts Int’l Women’s Football Championship with victory over Kyrgyzstan

KATHMANDU: Nepal made a winning start in the International Women’s Championship, which kicked off today on home soil.

In their opening match on Monday at Dasharath Stadium, Nepal secured a 1-0 victory over Kyrgyzstan. Midfielder Bimala Chaudhary scored the decisive goal in the 10th minute of the first half.

With this win, Nepal has earned three points and climbed to second place in the four-nation tournament. Earlier in the day, Myanmar defeated Lebanon 3-1 to claim the top spot.
