NEPSE up by nearly 30 points, turnover surpasses Rs 10 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its upward trend on Monday, gaining 29.87 points to close at 2,727.91 points.

The market saw a 1.10%  increase, with a total turnover exceeding Rs 10 billion, reaching Rs 10.49 billion in total transactions.

A total of 166 companies recorded gains, while 74 companies saw declines, and four companies remained stable.

Out of 302 listed companies, 102,861 shares were traded.

Eight companies hit their positive circuit levels, while Saptakoshi Development Bank was the only stock to reach its negative circuit level.

Among the 13 trading groups, Finance, Hydro, and Trading were the only sectors to close in the red. The Finance sector declined by 0.84% , Hydro by 0.15%, and Trading by 1.27%.

The Other group recorded the highest gain at 2.47%, while the Investment group saw the lowest increase at 0.20%.

The Commercial Bank sector rose by 2.16%, Development Bank by 0.33%, Hotel and Tourism by 2.29%, Life Insurance by 0.89%, Production and Processing by 0.77%, Microfinance by 2.45%, Mutual Fund by 0.52%, and Non-Life Insurance by 1.07%.
