Four Nations Football Tournament kicks off in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: The Four Nations International Women’s Football Tournament officially begins today in Kathmandu.

Organized by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the tournament will feature two matches today.

The first match, scheduled for 1:30 pm, will see Myanmar face Lebanon, followed by the second match between Nepal and Kyrgyzstan at 5:30 pm.

Kyrgyzstan currently holds the 128th position in the FIFA rankings, while Nepal is ranked 25th.

The two teams previously met in the 2019 Nadezhda Cup in Kyrgyzstan, where Nepal triumphed with an 8-2 victory.

The tournament, which also includes Myanmar and Lebanon, serves as a preparation for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup and the FIFA World Cup.
