Fog blankets Tarai, snowfall expected in high hills



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that the country is currently experiencing the partial influence of western winds along with a western low-pressure system.

According to the Division, the weather is partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas, including Koshi Province, while the rest of the country remains partly cloudy to mostly clear. Fog and mist have been reported in several parts of the Tarai.

This afternoon, the weather in the hilly regions is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to mostly clear.

Light rain is anticipated in a few places in the hilly areas, with light snowfall likely in some of the high hilly and mountainous areas.

Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions.

There is a possibility of light snowfall in a few areas of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces.

The Division has advised the public to take necessary precautions, particularly in the morning, as mist and fog are expected to affect several areas of the Tarai.
