Bagmati Province spends only 16% of budget in first six months



KATHMANDU: Bagmati Province has spent just 16.27 percent of its allocated budget in the first half of the current fiscal year, according to Suraj Paudel, Information Officer at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning.

Out of the total budget of Rs 64.54 billion for the fiscal year, the province had used only Rs 10.5 billion by the end of December.

Paudel noted that capital expenditure was significantly lower compared to recurrent spending.

Among the allocated budgets, the Office of the Chief Provincial Attorney used the highest proportion, spending 41.56 percent, followed by the Provincial Assembly Secretariat at 28.36 percent .

In contrast, the Ministry of Tourism, Industry, and Cooperatives recorded the lowest spending, utilizing just 4.6 percent of its allocated budget.
