China offers 33 scholarships for Nepali students, including MBBS



KATHMANDU: The Government of China has announced a total of 33 scholarships for Nepali students in various disciplines, including the MBBS program.

The application process for the scholarships has been initiated by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Medical Education Commission.

Under the Chinese Government Scholarship Programme, four seats have been allocated specifically for the MBBS programme. In addition, scholarships will be provided at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral (PhD) levels in a wide range of subjects, including engineering, medical sciences, information technology, economics, management, agriculture and animal sciences, and educational management.

According to the Medical Education Commission, candidates interested in applying for the MBBS scholarship must submit their applications online. Applicants who have passed the integrated entrance examination and are listed in the merit order will be selected for the scholarship.

For undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD-level scholarships, applicants are required to submit their applications along with necessary academic certificates, a copy of Nepali citizenship, passport copy, and other prescribed documents to the Scholarship Section of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur.

The commission has also specified age limits for applicants. Candidates must be below 25 years of age for undergraduate programmes, below 35 years for postgraduate programmes, and below 45 years for PhD programmes.

A total of nine seats have been allocated for PhD studies in subjects such as economics, engineering, medical sciences, information technology, management, educational management, and agriculture and animal sciences.

The deadline for submitting applications varies according to the level of study. Concerned authorities have urged interested students to apply within the stipulated timeframe and complete all required procedures on time.
