NEPSE gains 18.37 points, closes at 2,619.99



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 18.37 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,619.99 points.

Share prices of 187 companies increased, while 61 companies saw a decline and 11 remained unchanged.

Total turnover slightly decreased compared to the previous session. Shares worth Rs 3.29 billion were traded on Tuesday, down from Rs 3.44 billion recorded on Monday.

Except for the trading group, all sectoral indices ended in the green. The trading sub-index declined marginally by 0.01 percent.

Among the gainers, the banking sector rose by 0.35 percent, development banks by 1.56 percent, finance by 0.41 percent, hotels and tourism by 1.49 percent, hydropower by 0.77 percent, investment by 0.68 percent, life insurance by 0.69 percent, manufacturing and processing by 0.46 percent, microfinance by 0.86 percent, non-life insurance by 0.89 percent, and the ‘others’ group by 1.15 percent.
