Property worth nearly Rs 5.7 million stolen from Kathmandu and Lalitpur



KATHMANDU: Property worth nearly Rs 5.7 million has been stolen from various locations in Kathmandu and Lalitpur, police said on Tuesday.

According to the Central Police News Room, theft incidents were reported on Monday from different areas of Tarkeshwor Municipality, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and Mahalaxmi Municipality in Lalitpur. The stolen property includes gold and silver jewelry, cash, and electronic items.

In Tarkeshwor Municipality-11, Nepal Tar, thieves stole property worth Rs 291,000 from the room of Sunita Bajgai. Similarly, property worth Rs 377,000 was stolen from the house of Jayaram Adhikari in Tarkeshwor Municipality-2, Kavresthali.

In another incident, thieves made off with gold and silver jewelry along with a laptop worth approximately Rs 740,000 from the room of Dharmaratna Shahi in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-15.

In Lalitpur, property worth Rs 404,000 was stolen from the room of Janendralal Karna in Bhairav Tol, Mahalaxmi Municipality-1. Likewise, valuables worth Rs 3.947 million were stolen from the room of Baburam Pandey near Krishna Mandir Chowk.

Police said they have launched a search for those involved in the thefts and are carrying out necessary investigations into the incidents.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police office.
