KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has published today’s foreign exchange rates, showing the US dollar at its highest level ever against the Nepali rupee. According to the central bank, the buying rate of one US dollar has been fixed at Rs 144.88, while the selling rate stands at Rs 145.48.
As per the updated rates, the buying rate of one European euro has been set at Rs 170.20 and the selling rate at Rs 170.90. The UK pound sterling is being traded at a buying rate of Rs 193.95 and a selling rate of Rs 194.75, while the Swiss franc stands at Rs 182 for buying and Rs 182.75 for selling.
Similarly, the Australian dollar is priced at Rs 96.29 for buying and Rs 96.69 for selling, the Canadian dollar at Rs 105.20 and Rs 105.64, and the Singapore dollar at Rs 112.38 and Rs 112.85, respectively.
The buying rate for 10 Japanese yen has been fixed at Rs 9.35 and the selling rate at Rs 9.39. One Chinese yuan is valued at Rs 20.56 for buying and Rs 20.64 for selling. The Saudi Arabian riyal is trading at Rs 38.61 for buying and Rs 38.77 for selling, while the Qatari riyal stands at Rs 39.76 and Rs 39.92, respectively.
According to the central bank, the Thai baht has a buying rate of Rs 4.61 and a selling rate of Rs 4.63. The UAE dirham is priced at Rs 39.45 for buying and Rs 39.61 for selling, the Malaysian ringgit at Rs 35.40 and Rs 35.55, the South Korean won at Rs 9.89 and Rs 9.93, the Swedish krona at Rs 15.59 and Rs 15.66, and the Danish krone at Rs 22.78 and Rs 22.88.
Nepal Rastra Bank has also fixed the buying rate of one Hong Kong dollar at Rs 18.62 and the selling rate at Rs 18.69. The Kuwaiti dinar is set at Rs 472.14 for buying and Rs 474.90 for selling, the Bahraini dinar at Rs 384.32 and Rs 385.91, and the Omani rial at Rs 376.31 and Rs 377.87. The exchange rate for 100 Indian rupees has been fixed at Rs 160 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling.
The central bank noted that these rates may be revised at any time as necessary. It also clarified that exchange rates set by commercial banks may differ and that updated rates are available on the Nepal Rastra Bank website.
